World Environment Day

Yesterday, Louka and I celebrated World Environment Day. After swimming, we took the bus to Manly and the ferry to Circular Quay to see the ice bear. It was quite impressive, still looking like a polar bear but with its bronze bones showing through in places, especially the skull. It was also very cold and wet. Louka was pleased to get a stamp on her hand.

When we'd seen enough of the bear, we headed back to Manly for the food and wine festival. There were also environmental stalls at the fair (or perhaps it was a separate fair, I don't know). Louka made a handprint and pledged to save the penguins. I think they're making a big deal about penguins at school.

Louka got in early for the hat-making craft activity, and made a very carnival-esque hat. Great for dancing.

Then we got an ice-cream each before heading home
