Louka's banner

At Louka's school they give out certificates for little achievements. When a child gets five certificates he or she gets a "goldie" - a gold five-certificate award. And five goldies gets you a banner, handed out at a special assembly to which parents are invited, followed by afternoon tea with the Principal.

Louka actually accumulated enough certificates at the end of last year, but I wasn't aware of the importance so it wasn't until a couple of her friends got banners that I sorted through them and realised she had enough. So she's been waiting six months for this banner. She was so proud that I asked Graham if he could take the time off to attend the banner assembly with me, and he was able to make it.
