Thomas at Luddenham

As a reward for going seven days with no wee or poo accidents, we wanted to give Louka a special outing. One of our mothers group suggested the Train Shed at Luddenham. It is closer than the Zig Zag railway or Thirlmere, so we went there today.

Avoiding road tolls it took over an hour to get there, and when the lady selling tickets said the ride was about eight minutes I thought it was a long way to drive for an eight-minute ride. However, we had rides on James, Gordon (not yet painted and with no face), Gordon again and, at last, Thomas.

We had lunch. There wasn't much choice ― scones, pies, sausage rolls, hot dogs and instant noodles ― but the scones, though reheated, were soft and the jam and cream were real and generously served, the hot dog was freshly heated and Louka was able to help herself to lashings of tomato sauce, and with tea and juice the meal came to exactly $10.

We also played with the toy train set. There wasn't much to control, just making three of the trains stop and go, but it was fun to watch them all driving around for a while. They had a fair bit of mostly Thomas merchandise, but though Louka enjoyed looking at it all, she didn't want to take any home. Which was fine with me.

She fell asleep almost as soon as we left and didn't wake till we got home. Which was fortunate, because the GPS took us via two stretches of Parramatta Road and through Five Dock's main shopping street. I think altogether I spent three hours driving for about an hour and a half actually there. Oh well.

And with no accidents today, it's been twelve days. I guess I can say she's toilet trained?
