Christmas picnic
For the last mothers group get-together of the year, we had a kris kindle or kris kringle for baby presents. We were each assigned a baby to buy for (Sarah's husband Nick made a spreadsheet to do this) and a price, and all the presents went into a santa sack.
When Paula arrived, she mentioned that she had heard Santa's sleigh-bells and thought he might be attending our picnic. Sure enough, soon after everyone had arrived, Santa turned up! And he had the sack of presents for the babies! However, some of the babies found him very scary. But that didn't stop them playing happily with the wrapping-paper and, occasionally, with the presents. Louka didn't cry when Santa gave her her present, but she did look a little dubious.
After Santa left, the mothers snacked on delicious chocolate brownies fresh from Paula's oven, ginger-beer, and other yummy things. Louka and Dantae enjoyed pretending to drink from their mothers' plastic cups.
