Koala Park

Today we took Louka to the Koala Park at West Pennant Hills. I hadn't been there since I was ... oh, six years old? I don't think it's changed a lot since then.

But first we went to Café Saligna at Cumberland State Forest for lunch. It's just down the road. This time we got an outdoor table. I had grilled dory and Graham had tandoori lamb pizza, both nice. Louka was initially keen on her pumpkin and sweetcorn purée but as usual didn't eat much.

At the Koala Park we watched a five-year-old koala being fed (though he seemed as little interested in food as Louka) while hordes of tourists photographed him. We managed to get a picture of him close to Louka. There were lots of kangaroos and wallabies, penguins and cockatoos.

However, the best of all were the echidnas. There were three, one larger and two very small, and they were very active. One of the little ones kept climbing up the wall till he fell over backwards. At first we thought it was an accident, but he did it so often we decided he was doing it for fun.
