Pre-Christmas catch-ups
John and Meagan were passing through Sydney again on their way to Perth for Christmas. They wanted to catch up with us, and with Nanna Joyce and uncle Richie and his two girls, so we went to lunch at Fusion Café at Eastwood. I'd been there before with my parents and been disappointed, but this time the food was very nice. After Louka had eaten a bit of her beef and plum baby food, followed by a date, she tried a piece of my kangaroo fillet and seemed to enjoy it very much.
After lunch we drove Joyce back to her place, where Louka (who'd been crying and screaming in the car) had fun trying to use Joyce's walking frame.
Then John and Meagan spent the afternoon at our place, and we exchanged Christmas presents ― a pretty pink dress for Louka, and Noah and Mary soft toys for John and Meagan.
At 6 o'clock I was due to have drinks at World Square Equilibrium bar with Jessica and other former workmates, including Alicia. So the five of us took the train to town, and I headed off to World Square while the others had a drink at GPO before John and Meagan took their massive amounts of luggage to the airport.
Jess had booked a section of the bar for us, so we didn't have to find space among the crowds, which was good. Quite a few old colleagues were there, though Anton hadn't arrived yet: apparently he was working late. After I'd been there a while, and drunk a lemon lime and bitters, Graham appeared outside with Louka looking extremely cute in her new dress, but being under 18 she wasn't allowed in. So I decided it was time to go home.
